You might not believe it, but between me and my Samsonite suitcase, there is now a relationship far more complex than just shared travel memories from checked luggage — it has become my environmental KPI partner.
That’s right. This travel suitcase brand that used to exist solely to “carry your stuff” has now transformed into a true “guardian of the planet”. Don’t be fooled by its quiet and elegant exterior — inside lies an environmental secret that gives discarded plastics a second life.
As the apparel and luggage industry accelerates its green transformation, launching products that are more environmentally friendly and more durable has become a key way for brands to respond to consumer expectations and fulfill their environmental responsibilities. As a leading high-end travel luggage brand, Samsonite adheres to circular economy principles, continuously creating more sustainable products while leading and driving the industry’s transition toward sustainability.
In terms of product and packaging material selection, Samsonite continues to expand the use of environmentally friendly recycled materials. In 2024, approximately 47% of the group’s sales came from products containing recycled materials. For example, suitcase shells made with recycled PC materials offer outstanding durability, high flame resistance, and easy cleaning — dirt can be wiped away effortlessly without leaving marks.
In 2025, the newly launched PARALUX series features suitcase shells containing over 50% recycled rPP materials. The trolley system uses 100% recycled aluminum, while all fabrics, zippers, and linings across the series are made from 100% recycled PET materials, significantly reducing environmental impact. In addition, the innovative “self-replacement design” allows users to easily disassemble and replace wheels and handles, extending product lifespan while reducing maintenance-related consumption.

As younger generations increasingly pursue a more relaxed and free lifestyle, their relationship with travel gear is also quietly evolving. Travel luggage is no longer just a functional tool, but an extension of lifestyle itself. In the past, buying a suitcase meant asking, “Can it hold a lot? Is it durable?” Today, there’s an extra question: “Is it environmentally friendly?”
